£7,500 towards air & ground source heat pumps — no income test, England & Wales. £9,000 for oil/LPG (off-gas) homes from 21 July 2026 to 31 March 2027. We apply on your behalf via Ofgem; the grant is deducted from your invoice.
Heat pump supply & installation is 0% VAT until 31 March 2027 (then 5%). On a £10,000 system that's a £500 saving vs waiting — and up to £2,000 vs standard-rated work.
Government-supported loans for heat pumps (air-to-water cap £20,000, ground-source £35,000, before BUS). Public launch expected in 2026 but not yet open (as of October 2026); no income thresholds. Also covers the radiators and pipework the heat pump needs.
Government-backed loans for heat pumps and solar above the low-income threshold. Expected 0% (1–2yr), 2–5% (3–5yr), 4–8% (5–10yr). Backed by up to £2 billion.
Typical air source install: £11,000–£14,000 gross. Minus £7,500 BUS grant → client pays £3,500–£6,500 net, before 0% VAT. Fund that balance with the Warm Homes Loan at ~£55/month once the scheme opens (expected 2026).
Three money events land on the same date: 0% VAT ends, the £9,000 off-gas BUS uplift ends, and MCS redeveloped-scheme transition completes. Completing before 31 March 2027 locks in the best possible price.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) provides £7,500 towards the cost of an air source or ground source heat pump installation — and £9,000 for oil/LPG homes until 31 March 2027. We handle the application process on your behalf; the grant is deducted from the invoice.
After the £7,500 BUS grant, a typical air source system costs around £3,500 net. Once the scheme opens (expected 2026 — not yet live) the government-backed Warm Homes Loan is planned to cover that balance at 0–3% — £0 upfront, around £55/month. Works completed before 31 March 2027 also benefit from 0% VAT. Grant values are indicative and subject to scheme rules and lender credit checks.
Yes, modern high-temperature heat pumps can work effectively in older buildings. We conduct detailed heat loss surveys and may recommend radiator upgrades or insulation improvements.
Savings depend on your current heating system and property insulation. Switching from oil or LPG typically saves 30-50%. Replacing gas heating may save 10-30%.
Yes, modern heat pumps operate efficiently down to -15°C or below. They are widely used in Scandinavia where winters are much colder than the UK.
Air source heat pump installation typically takes 2-3 days. Ground source systems with boreholes may take 1-2 weeks depending on ground conditions.
